
The president is responsible for handling all external affairs of the fraternity, such as meeting with the Interfraternal Council and the President’s Council, as well as communicating with the Greek Advisor, Regional Counselors, and International Headquarters. He shall preside at all meetings of his chapter, perform all the duties performed by the president of a parliamentary body, and shall have the privilege of voting on all questions and on all candidates for admission to the chapter. He oversees the general operations of the chapter, schedule chapter retreats, and assist the Marshal and Chaplain with the running of Initiation.

The vice-president shall officiate in the absence of the president with the same powers and privileges of the president. The vice president must coordinate the activities and programs of all chapter committees. He coordinates all internal affairs and ensures that every officer performs their assigned duties. He is in charge to annual updates to the chapter by-laws.

The secretary shall keep an accurate, complete, and impartial record of the proceedings of his chapter, and shall have the custody of the constitution, rituals, minutes, and records of the chapter, except those pertaining to the treasurer and other officers hereinafter provided for. He shall conduct and handle all correspondence and give notices to members and alumni. He is responsible for the completion, update, and filing of forms with the International Headquarters.

The treasurer shall collect all fees, dues, assessments, and fines, shall be responsible and accountable to the Alumni Board of Directors. Operating under the Theta Chi Finance System, he shall pay out such money as directed by the Financial supervisor. He shall render a written report to said Board of Directors monthly and submit a copy of each written report to the Grand Chapter. He is also responsible for setting up payment plans, setting semester budgets, and creating a budget with the Student Government Association.

The marshal shall coordinate all of the activities associated with educating new members and assimilating all new members into chapter operations. He is responsible to document the New Member Education program and invite guest speakers and alumni to take part in the New Member Education process and ensures that the chapter is completely free of hazing activities.

It is the duty of the alumni relations chair to oversee all alumni operations. He will be responsible for all contact between the chapter and its alumni. He will coordinate the annual alumni barbeque, and ensure the printing and mailing of an alumni newsletter once a semester. He shall keep a permanent card index of all active and alumni members of his chapter on which he shall keep their addresses, corrected to date, and shall inform the Executive Office of all changes.

The chaplain shall conduct all devotional exercise such as chapter prayers. He assists in the coordination of special events such as retreats and Founders Day, but is mainly responsible for the coordination and supervision of ritual meetings and Initiation.

The historian shall keep a continuous record, in permanent form, of the activities of the members while in college and of important chapter events. Is record shall always be available to the National Historian, and once a year he shall submit to him a resume of the chapter’s history for the year. The historian shall be required to read his history in open meeting each month. He shall make every possible effort to collect and preserve all historical material, keeping it in a locked case or other container suitable for the safeguarding of valuable material.

The social chair must organize and coordinate social events of the chapter, secure and organize facilities for social events, work with social chairs of all chapters to ensure events are in compliance with college and IFC policy, and builds inter-Greek relations.

He shall attend IFC meetings and have reports prepared about the chapter, report to chapter on the activities on IFC/Panhellenic Council, and communicate with other chapters in the Greek community as necessary.

The librarian shall have the custody of the books of the chapter library. He shall keep a record of all books taken there from with the date of their withdrawal and the date of their return. He shall also assist the secretary in the discharge of his duties and shall act as a secretary in the absence of the latter from meetings.

The first guard shall be custodian of the chapter hall and shall guard the door during the time of meetings and admit none but brothers in Theta Chi.

He shall organize teams and individuals for intramural seasons and events, serve as the captain of intramural teams, and inform brothers of game and practice schedules.
